Description
Bianco oval platter in porcelain. Arcadia collection.
The distinctive black threading traces the contours of the classic Venezia shape and hosts the utopian Arcadia, a world inhabited by fanciful creatures that can excite and intrigue as they conceal hidden meanings to be discovered.
Four of the eleven imaginary figures that characterize the collection stand out:
Zazello, mischievous little devil. Whoever is stung by his trident falls instantly out of love; Ciccirillo, a lovable imp of a butterfly, intent on presenting a flower; Keith in the Sky, who represents the painter Keith Hering in the guise of a cherub listening to music in the heavens; and Pasqualino marino, a cheerful monkey riding a seahorse in a double mirror image. He is said to have been last sighted in the Bay of Naples in 1800.
Arcadia springs from the creative whimsy of Fashion Designer Orazio Stasi, and is available in table sets and tea and coffee services, in which each element tells an original imaginative story in the unmistakable style of Ginori 1735.
