Le Mie Donne represent the first decorations conceived by Gio Ponti that synthesize the classicism of Art Deco through a poetic and sophisticated design declined in three variants that each feature a female figure. Domitilla portrays a woman suspended in the void by ropes, whose elongated limbs describe balanced geometries. The sketches were assembled by Gio Ponti himself, who had conceived each of the three maidens in the center and suspended on monuments evoking the ancient or Renaissance world. In doing so, the architect managed to create a pleasing balance between the sinuosity of the female forms and the rigor of the architecture in the background. True to the Pontian representation, the decoration is entirely hand-painted on majolica.
